Your visibility grade is all about your listings, otherwise known as local SEO citations.  An example of a citation is the online mention of a business' details on a third-party site or a local directory such as Facebook or Yelp.  A citation includes the name of the business, business address, and business telephone number.  
It may also include opening hours, products and services, images, videos, 
social media links and more. 

To get more customers your business needs to be listed on all of the major directories and your information needs to be 100% accurate so that customers can find you, call you & have the opportunity to do business with you.

If you have decided to go it alone and do the updates to all of your listings, this will help you to navigate the process.  We highly encourage you to have an expert double check your work because we cannot be held responsible if you are doing the corrections of your listings because potential errors may occur.

IMPORTANT: This is to be used as your reference tool only. If you have opted to order our DONE FOR YOU SERVICE or if you later decide to order our DONE FOR YOU SERVICE - there is nothing that you need to do. We will do everything for you.


CAUTION to those that are opting for the DO IT YOURSELF option:

It can be a long, tedious and confusing process to add, edit, delete duplicate listings and so forth. There is a high chance of accidental errors on your part that can adversely affect your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and your SERP (Search Engine Results Page). This is a very technical process. I highly encourage you to instead hire our team of experts to do all of this for you so that it can be done quickly, efficiently and most importantly accurately.

Correcting your listings will be one of the most important investments that you do for your business and it will improve your ROI (Return On Investment) because now you are being properly listed in more search engines and so your business will be seen as a trusted authority and your business will have wider exposure. Google will now be able to confirm via their algorithms that all of your listings match each other and that there are no inconsistencies or duplicates. This will impress the algorithms and therefore put you higher up in the search results - which means more eyes are on your business instead of your competition, which can lead to more clients and more business revenue.

If you still want to go it alone, this form will serve as a great reference tool for you to better understand the various directory listings. You will need to make sure you register an account with each directory and claim your listing. Once you have claimed your listing you can go into each account and update your company information to your current information.


DO IT YOURSELF: ALL ABOUT FIXING YOUR DIRECTORY LISTINGS (CITATIONS):

Please Note: While we will do everything that we can to guide you through this process - we do not take responsibility for any part. Since you are doing the correction of your own listings, you are therefore responsible for the outcomes. Even making sure that this helpful guide is up to date is your responsibility. If you opt for our paid service and if we do the correction of the listings for you - that is when we will accept full responsibility for the outcomes.

IMPORTANT: Google and Bing require post card verification. Yahoo and Yelp require phone verification.

Typically you/we will receive a code via postcard &/or phone and you will need you to give that code to them so that they can go ahead and update your listing.

POST CARD VERIFICATION PROCESS: Google and Bing will send you a post card to the address you specify and it will contain a code that is needed to complete the verification.

PHONE VERIFICATION PROCESS: You will initiate an automated call or text from inside your account. You will enter the code and the verification will be completed.


FOR YOUR REFERENCE
The DFY is for those who opted to pay the service fee for us to fix the listings for them and the DIY is for those who are choosing to fix the listings on their own and we wanted to give you some guidance. Those that have chosen the DFY service do not need to do anything unless it is required by the directory listing companies. The following information below is mainly for your reference only if you are opting to do this yourself.


GOOGLE MY BUSINESS
COST: Free DETAILS FOR UPDATES: In order to update this account, you will need to be able to login to the Google account associated with the business. If you do not have such access, you can attempt to claim the account by searching for your business name and city in Google, then clicking on "Is this your business" on the Google My Business account and follow the instructions. If that does not show up, you will need to contact Google support via twitter @GoogleMyBiz and ask them to help you gain access to the account. LOGINS REQUIRED (?): Must Have Account Logins OPTIONS TO FIX YOUR CITATIONS/LISTINGS: You must first gain access to your Google My Business account if you do not yet have access. This will require either a phone or postcard verification. Once you have access to the account you can go in and make the required updates within the account. Whenever you update the address, there is a high chance that this will trigger a postcard verification to the new address. Once this is completed, your updates will take effect. BENEFITS: Google is the #1 most used search engine in the world – By a large margin. It is extremely important to have your business details accurate in Google since millions of people rely on this information to find your business. This is the #1 most important place to have your business information accurate for SEO. It is equally important that the business information match exactly to that of your website and other directories.


BING
COST: Free DETAILS FOR UPDATES: In order to update this account, you will need to be able to login to the Bing account associated with the business. If you do not have such access, you will need to contact Bing support and request such access. LOGINS REQUIRED (?): Must Have Account Logins OPTIONS TO FIX YOUR CITATIONS/LISTINGS: Login to the Bing Places account associated with your business. Click on the business you wish to edit. Make the required updates and click update. There may be a postcard verification required. In this case, you will need to enter a code contained in the postcard once you receive it in order for your updates to go live. BENEFITS: Bing is a popular search engine. It is important to have your business information listed accurately here since many people rely on Bing to find businesses.
